Laminotome de Mangione
Mangione's Laminotome
Surgical technique
Laminotome presentation
Mangione's Laminotome
Lumbar laminectomy is a standard technique in spinal surgery for radicular decompression in narrow lumbar canal pathologies.
The Mangione's laminotome offers a new alternative, allowing for a simpler and safer surgical technique.
With the Laminotome, lumbar laminectomy is faster and simpler. It does not require any power tools and above all, it is far less dangerous than traditional methods
The Laminotome has a guiding spatula under the cutter which tends to push the tip up when cutting. This makes the method much safer and reduce the risk of pushing the instrument too far in the canal.
The Laminotome can be used in most cases, save for patients with extremly narrow canals where is no space to allow the introduction of guiding spatula.
The Laminotome was developed with Dr Paolo Mangione
from Centre Aquitain du dos - 33000 Bordeaux-France
